…and so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young…
John Lennon & Yoko Ono ~ Happy Christmas (War is Over) 1971
I love being able to celebrate Christmas in summer time in Australia. Travel has been put on pause while we enjoy the community spirit where we live, then get together with family to enjoy the weather, the fun, the food, the gifts and the company on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Driving around at night in our town, and in fact every suburb and town, you’ll find houses decorated to the hilt with light displays. Some are subtle while others go completely over the top, but all to bring joy to the occupants and others. Many businesses also get into the spirit by decorating their premises or shop windows.

Gardens are bursting with flowers too and so the colourful Christmas show goes on, even in the harsh daylight of sunny summer days under a big vivid blue sky.

Hopefully if the weather stays just right, we will enjoy some time at the beach on Christmas Day, soaking up the fresh air, toes in the sand and wind in the hair, enjoying family time together before we start the annual summer holiday away. This year there will be a piece of home coming away with us too, with a little herb garden in a caravan planter…of course!

Merry Christmas to all,
Glenys.
Have a great Chrissie!

It’s been nice to see all the lights and decorations going up again this year. Our little grandson is coming this week to visit and Mr ET has gone all out with the lights outside, specially for him. Happy Christmas to you and your family, Glenys.

They sure do spread a little joy around that we all need at the moment. Fantastic that families are able to get together again finally, we still have fingers crossed that all goes well for ours to be home from tomorrow all going well. 🙂
Have a wonderful Christmas too Carol, I’ve really enjoyed reading your blogs again this year, all the best.
