My name is Glenys Gelzinis and I’m a freelance travel writer and photographer based in South Australia.
I’ve had a passion for photography forever, with landscapes, seascapes and black and white photography being my favourite genres. Putting my loves of travelling in Australia, writing and photography together I have been writing travel articles for magazines since 2015.
Take a look around my website for destinations to visit, publications that have featured my stories and the news blog page for the latest travel updates and all things to love about caravanning and holidaying in this great country. You can also follow me on Instagram @glenysgelzinis for photo updates.
Whether I am travelling or home based (planning the next holiday), I’m always taking photos of the world around me, aiming to improve and see things from new angles. One of my photographic achievements was being 1 of 16 finalists in an Australia wide photographic competition run by the Weekend Australian Magazine in conjunction with Tourism Australia in 2006. The brief was called, “Wish you were here” and looked for photographs showing the many different aspects and landscapes of Australia. My entry in the ‘Outback’ category, was taken at the East Alligator River near Cahills Crossing in Kakadu National Park NT. The photo also appeared in the ‘Wish you were here’ calendar.
This photograph was taken on a family camping holiday in the Northern Territory, a destination that is a truly unique Australian experience. There are so many breathtaking landscapes in this vast country and little by little I am making my way around and hoping to inspire others to get out amongst it.
