That’s the title of my latest story in ‘The Wanderer’, the magazine of the Caravan and Motorhome Club of Australia, and it refers to the fact that when you holiday in Goolwa South Australia you get a river holiday and a beach holiday in one delightful stay.

We have holidayed in this area of the Fleurieu Peninsula, at least once a year for more than 30 years and what kept us coming back was the beautiful laid back, community feel, as well as the spectacular beaches, river, great food and drink venues, boutique shopping, picturesque walks and friendly locals.

In fact, we enjoyed our times in the Goolwa, Middleton, Port Elliot area so much, that we retired here!

It still is the best place to live I believe and we really do have the best of both worlds with river life and a beautiful, clean, sandy beach to enjoy. We regularly eat out at the local restaurants, cafes and pubs and enjoy the wine bar, distillery and other venues.

Our shops are lovely, welcoming and full of beautiful products and the art in the town is just sublime, and you’ll find a passionate community of people who ensure the balance of history and progress are both considered.

The Wanderer magazine which is produced as a hard copy magazine as well as online, has the six page story and photos showcasing this beautiful town. The magazine is distributed to members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club of Australia, the largest RV Club in Australia with a current membership of around 70,000 people.
