A little update on a campground that we’ve visited in the past which has had some changes, and is now being administered by the National Parks and Wildlife Service SA.
Ippinitchie Campground is located in the former Wirrabara Forest off Forest Road approximately 6 km west of Wirrabara.
This southern Flinders Ranges region is around 2 and a half hours from Adelaide and is a very serene stopover if you’re visitng the area.
The campground has 10 small, sites along Ippinitchie Creek and they vary in size with sites suitable for tents, camper trailers and caravans. The sites now have to be booked and paid for online at Wirrabara Forest Bookings, with prices varying from around $15 to $24 depending on the site booked. Each campsite has a fire pit which can be used with your own firewood according to seasonal restrictions.
Dogs are no longer allowed within this campground.

Cheers

It was a very quiet and peaceful spot when we stayed, a lovely back to nature place.
