Driving to the Tip of Cape York – The Stats

Having completed our  β€˜trip to the tip’, it’s time to look at the statistics and give people an idea of how far we travelled, how much we spent and how many days we took. The distance from Lakeland on Cape York where we left our caravan, to the very tip of Queensland at Pajinka was… Read More Driving to the Tip of Cape York – The Stats

Driving to the tip of Australia – Part 5 (Our journey back from the tip comes to an end)

As we leave Alau Beach and begin the drive back from the tip we notice a whole lot more of lost bits and pieces that have fallen off peoples cars, caravans or campers.  We see more tiedowns, a mop, a tyre, more solar panels and assorted dust covered metal fragments.

Driving to the tip of Australia – Part 4 (Loyalty Beach, Seisia and Alau Beach)

Our drive to the tip continued with a mix of bitumen and dirt roads. We notice how the roadside plants on one side are caked in red dirt as the dust gets blown then settles to one side of the road. Everything is red tinged.

Bright and Bubbly Mission Beach

Mission Beach has a certain vibe that is relaxed and welcoming, but with a vibrant and busy local hub as well.  It is busy enough to keep you entertained and has plenty of options for eating and drinking out, but on the flipside, there are oodles of serene places and ways to chill out. What… Read More Bright and Bubbly Mission Beach

On the Road to Townsville, Queensland – 2023

After 13 nights on the road, we’ve made it to our first main destination in Queensland, and that is Townsville. The trip so far has been pretty perfect with the weather slowly getting warmer and more consistent as we’ve headed north.Β  The Landcruiser and Jayco Silverline are going well (as expected) and most of the… Read More On the Road to Townsville, Queensland – 2023
