Special Streaky Bay

Touring around Eyre Peninsula in South Australia has us thinking each new camping destination is the best. But now I think we’ve really found it, in Streaky Bay.  Streaky Bay is around 700 kilometres north west of Adelaide, getting its name from explorer Matthew Flinders who noticed the discoloured streaks in the water. The streaks… Read More Special Streaky Bay

Portland – The birthplace of Victoria

The town of Portland has a busy major port used for the export of grains, cattle, sheep and most obviously to travellers when you see the port, woodchips and logs. The port is located between Adelaide and Melbourne and is very close to the forestry industry in the region known as the Green Triangle, referring… Read More Portland – The birthplace of Victoria

Lake sunset 🧡
A spectacular #sunset on our first evening at Lake Pamamaroo. Not a breath of wind for a campfire by the lake and these views from the caravan absolutely free. 🙌 #lakepamamaroo #pamamaroolake #brokenhill #menindee #menindeelakes #lakesunset #menindeelakesnsw #outbacknsw #outbackaustralia #abcmyphoto #sunsetphotography @australia #landscapephotography #travelphotography #caravanlife #freecampingaustralia #viewsfromthecaravan #nswtourism #stormclouds #rainclouds #cloudphotography #willyweather @in.focus.women #bom❤️weather
@bellsmilkbar in Broken Hill is so much more than I was expecting. 😍 This is a must visit not only for the milkshakes, but to take a walk back in time. So many things I remember from my childhood. 🤩 #bellsmilkbar #bellsmilkbarbrokenhill #retro #midcenturyhome #midcenturyfurniture #midcenturyaustralia #milkbar #drinkmilk #drinkmilkandstaystrong #50sstyle #60sstyle
An awesome evening @thepalacehotelbrokenhill 🤩the spiritual home of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, another top Aussie movie. 🎥 Absolutely loving our time in Broken Hill and can’t wait to revisit, maybe during @brokenheelfestival 🥰 #brokenhill #astw_inc #aussiehotels #travelwriter #palacehotelbrokenhill #ilovethenightlife #iwillsurvive #priscillaqueenofthedesert #muralart
The @madmax2museum in Silverton NSW. Did I tell you that @chrishemsworth is currently filming the next @madmaxmovie in this area at the moment? I’m not sure who’s in charge of costuming, but I hope they’re a bit different from the walk down memory lane in the museum today. 🥴 Looking back on these costumes today, they resemble bondage store meets taxidermist. 😂 #madmaxmovie #silverton #outbacknsw #outbackaustralia #moviemuseum #aussiemovies #australianmovies #moviehistory #fromthewastelandofmadmax #brokenhill #brokenhillnsw
A wide river crossing, thankfully mostly dry. Riverbeds like this in Australia can change from dry and dusty to raging torrents in no time and with little warning, making them impossible to pass.

Acknowledgement of Country

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture.

I pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
