Fishing SA Magazine – Featuring Moonta Bay Yorke Peninsula

I’m happy to report that I’ve added another magazine title, to the list of publications that I’ve contributed to.  In the April / May edition of Fishing SA magazine, a South Australian sport fishing magazine which features all things fishing, camping, boating and outdoors, you will find my story on fishing at Moonta Bay on Yorke Peninsula. This is one of our favourite fishing destinations for the variety you can catch and because it’s a spot that is very safe for fishing in the tinnie.

The fishing here is so enjoyable because you don’t have to go far, or spend a fortune on fuel and gear, to bag yourself a sweet selection of seafood every day.  There’s never a day that you come back completely empty handed, but don’t bother going out on a northerly. The catches regularly include blue swimmer crabs, whiting, garfish, salmon trout, and squid on any given day.

The water is crystal clear making it easy to anchor your tinnie on a white, sandy hole and plenty of times you can watch crabs wandering along on the sand, checking out the crab net and you can even see what is about to hit your line. Enticing squid out of the weed is always a bit of fun.

Fishing SA magazine is available at all good newsagents, and by subscription. You can also go digital and access it on your desktop, tablet or smartphone.  I’m thrilled to have another story published and hope you enjoy it too. This is the cover to look for..Happy fishing & happy reading,

Glenys

    1. Thank you and yes any of the jetties on Yorke Peninsula are great for fishing. A crab net for blue swimmer crabs dropped from the jetty, a squid jag and lines for whiting should see you get a nice assortment of seafood.
