These guys have been around for a while, but Yeo Haus has moved from The Strand to bigger and better premises in Port Elliot.

The new premises are funky and fun, arty and cool and the place to be for some excellent new brews, gin and Yeo Haus labelled wines.

Their ethos is that they’re an independent brand defined by their space and community and are inspired by surf, art and the environment. Their new premises which they refer to as Yeo Haus Refreshment Centre, is on Elliot Street, behind the town oval and it’s certainly living up to that ethos.

They are open from Fridays through to Mondays, (check their Facebook page for opening times) and go from being a café during the day, offering coffees, juices, baked good and sweet treats, then slip into a trendy yet casual wine bar in the afternoon and evenings. The kitchen also serves up burgers, chips, loaded fries and more, during the day and evenings.

Inside the industrial warehouse type premises, they also trade as a shop with surfwear, boards, and casual cool clothes to suit the surf culture enthusiasts, as well as books, accessories and more.

So what’s the appeal for older folks like us? Well we love supporting anyone willing to give local business a go, especially when that business serves up great beers, (the Porter was a big hit) and nice easy drinking wines. The atmosphere is really friendly and relaxed, and families are welcome, there is lots of space indoors and out and the owners are super friendly and welcoming.

This is definitely one to get behind and support and then even more improvements will come with the backing of locals and visitors.
