South Australia’s Biggest Sculpture Festival

The Brighton Jetty Sculptures exhibition 2025 is on now. Running from the 22nd of January through to the 2nd of February, you have to get in quick if you want to see this magnificent spectacle.

The exhibition has sculptures to see outdoors and indoors, with the outdoor exhibits able to be viewed at any time. They can be seen along the esplanade of South Australia’s Brighton Beach, stretching for around 50 metres both sides of the jetty and if you see something you like, they can also be purchased.

The indoor exhibits can be seen in two marquees which are set up in Bindarra Reserve, next door to the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club. There is an entry fee to the indoor exhibits, of $5 per head for adults and this money goes to the surf life saving club. Indoor sculptures can be seen from 8am to 8pm each day.

The Brighton Jetty Sculptures Exhibition is now in its 18th year, having been inspired by the Sculptures by the sea exhibition, held around the Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club in WA. It began as a way to promote local artists while fund raising for the non-profit making Brighton Surf Life Saving Club. The exhibition draws an estimated 8,000 – 10,000 visitors per day which also helps local businesses during this busy time, with cafes, hotels and shops along Jetty Road also seeing the benefits.

All of the sculptures are for sale and some of the artists also take commissions for other artwork. During the exhibition there is also a People’s Choice Award and a photography competition which anyone can enter for free via their Instagram posts.

In 2025 there are almost 250 sculptures to find indoors and out and it’s a great day out to take a stroll along the esplanade and see the different sculptures. They are also worth seeing in the afternoon and evening, with our west facing beaches providing some spectacular sunsets which enhance the sculptures.

If you can’t make it to this year’s event, make a note of it in your diaries for next year. The sculpture exhibition is held around the same time each year and culminates with the Brighton Jetty Classic swim, an open water swim with distances of 1500 metres and 400 metres, making it South Australia’s largest open water swim.

Part of the open swim includes an event which is the Marilyn Jetty Swim, in which hundreds of participants dress up as 50’s icon, Marilyn Monroe and compete in the swim, raising money for South Australians impacted by cancer.

Men and women join in the fun, and registration includes a blonde wig, love heart sunglasses and a swim bag. Other items like classic Marilyn swimsuits and swim rings can also be purchased from the Marilyn shop too. Classic!

Last year’s Marilyn Jetty Swim had a record breaking 664 Marilyn’s taking part and over $344,000 raised for the Cancer Council.

Enjoy another fantastic South Australian spectacle.
