It’s Adelaide Fringe Season 2025

This is one of the greatest times of the year to be in Adelaide with a mammoth amount of arts, music, comedy, cabaret, circus and theatre events on to enjoy.

For 65 years this festival has been bringing international, national and local artists to South Australia and entertaining thousands of people who travel from near and far to see it each year.

In 2025 the Adelaide Fringe is running from the 21st of February through to the 23rd of March and there are more than 1300 shows across more than 470 venues. So it’s truly no exaggeration to say there is something for everyone. Events take place in many areas including regional centres but the beating heart of it all is in the east end of the city at two park venues. These hubs are named the Garden of Unearthly Delights and Gluttony.

Wandering through these normally sedate parklands is like being taken into another world with dreamy lighting, sights and sounds that add to the atmosphere and an overwhelming amount of food and drink venues to choose from.

The vibe is one of joy and cheerfulness with all the festival goers in a great mood and just loving the way our city is on show at its best.

Even if you’re not seeing a show, these parks are well worth a visit just to enjoy some delicious food and drinks and people watch. It’s fascinating. There is usually some free outdoor entertainment to enjoy as well and it’s very family friendly.

While you’re in the east end of the city, take a wander around this part of town and you’ll find some of Adelaide best restaurants and bars, where you can meet up with friends before or after the shows you are seeing. During this festival season restaurants take over the East End and many spill out onto the roads, which are closed to traffic to make the most of the summer evenings and buzz in the city.

During the day you can find sculptures and artworks and as well as unique shops, including a fabulous vintage clothing and accessories shop owned by a friend, called Little Ms Waste-Not Vintage, downstairs at 238 Rundle Street. Check out the shop’s social pages for a look.

There are many places in Adelaide and further afield where you can pick up the programs containing all the information on what to see at the Adelaide Fringe and Gluttony, and with a whole month to visit, there’s plenty of time left to enjoy this joyful time of the year.

Have fun,

Glenys
