The drive to this locality between the towns of Meadows and Goolwa in South Australia is a picturesque journey and a lunch stop at the Greenman Inn situated in this little community, around 63 kilometres from Adelaide, is the icing on the cake.
I have to start this with, if you’re an indecisive person, then you are really going to struggle at this restaurant. I’ll explain this later but first to where you’ll find this delicious dining experience with water views in South Australia.
Here’s a must do for those living in South Australia when you’re down Goolwa way on a Saturday or Sunday. If you’re not in South Australia add this experience to the list if you’re planning a visit in spring or summer.
From Goolwa take the bridge over the Murray River to Hindmarsh Island, stay on the main road and follow the signs to the Murray Mouth. This is worth the drive at anytime to see where this mighty river winds its way out to the Southern Ocean but time it right and you’ll be in for a treat.
If you’re in the town of Horsham in Victoria and looking for a character filled, friendly hotel with an impressive menu, look no further than the Bull and Mouth hotel in Wilson Street Horsham. We had been given a recommendation to eat here and are so glad that we went along to find out for ourselves.
You are spoilt for choice in the vale with every option from bakeries to fine dining and everything in between. On a recent weekend stay there, I was lucky enough to sample a range of foods, from an iconic South Australian chocolate to the dining equivalent of artistic masterpieces (in my humble non food critic opinion).
