Best Squidding spots on Eyre Peninsula

If you are after some tips on where to catch squid on Eyre Peninsula, then grab a copy of the December / January edition of Fishing SA magazine on sale now. I give the lowdown on the best jetties for a successful trip.

Not only that, the magazine is also full of ideas and tips on where to go fishing whether that’s in a boat or land based, all around the South Australian coastline over this summer.

All regions are covered in this latest issue which includes where the tuna, yellow fin whiting, kingfish and flathead are biting, and state wide fishing reports and news are also featured, so you can plan your holidays around where the fish are biting.

‘Eyre Peninsula Squid Safari’ is the name of my story and I name the best spots to try for squid, along with some fantastic places to park the caravan or set up the swag along this epic coastline too. There are caravan parks and off grid camping spots all nearby, that I’ve included in the story.

Fishing SA magazine has had a great year, releasing more magazines and pages of SA fishing content than any other publication in the state and here’s hoping we all have a huge summer of fishing to add to the stories next year.

Keep your eye on the Fishing SA social media sites over summer too, for updates on all relevant issues around the state including the ongoing Snapper fishing ban.

Enjoy the chase and have a great summer of fishing.

Cheers

  1. We always enjoyed fishing for squid off the Ceduna jetty during the time we lived there, although I don’t remember them being as large as those pictured above. Locals were always generous with their tips for catching and cooking, and we learned very quickly how to dodge the ink. I don’t know if Ceduna makes your list!

    1. We love Ceduna too but I have to admit we haven’t given the jetty a fair go yet! Unfortunately it’s no on the list of places we had success with, but you’re right that there are friendly locals there. 😃 It’s a place we will return to and hopefully have success on the jetty another time.
