I’m thrilled to say that I’ve received a Commended Award in the Photographer of the Year 2023 competition, in the Animal & Nature category.
The competition is provided by Australian Photography magazine each year and is the largest competition for amateur photographers in the southern hemisphere.
This year I entered a portfolio of four photos of the aptly named, Pretty Faced Wallabies.

These were some of a mob of wallabies that were grazing around Lake Awoonga in Queensland.

Also known as whiptail wallabies, their preferred habitat is at a higher density, and altitude to other wallabies and they prefer to live on slopes and under canopy cover. They are very social animals and are often seen in large mobs.
I’m very grateful to have received this commendation in the 2023 competition, which was judged by a panel of leading professional photographers and industry experts in Australia.
cheers
Glenys
