Well this is rather exciting…again. I’ve been privileged to have had some photos accepted for this year’s SALA at the silos at Karoonda for the second year running.

As with last year, artists and photographers were invited to express interest and submit examples of work to be included in a month long exhibition, illuminated on the Karoonda Silos. The theme for the exhibition this year is ‘Grounded in Place’ and I’m absolutely thrilled to say that I will be a part of this fantastic huge scale art event for the entire month of August this year.

Last year we attended the opening night which was terrific and we intend to again this year and once again stay at the Karoonda Tourist Park. The park which has an easy to use online booking system, has great amenities including a unique camp kitchen and huge communal fire pit, which was a hub after the event for those staying in the park last year.

SALA at the silos was an award winning event last year and I’m expecting it to be just as exciting this year, its sixth year as part of the event. If you want to see this year’s spectacular light projection of art and photography, it will be showing during the month of the South Australian Living Artists Festival, from 1 – 31 August. During each month of the year, there are fantastic projections of different featured artists to see too.

Karoonda is a little over 140 kilometres south east of Adelaide, in the Murray Mallee region of South Australia and a big tip if you’re planning to watch the evening viewing is rug up as warm as possible, it gets very chilly in these parts.
