A lovely surprise I received recently was an email from SALIFE magazine, wanting to feature one of my photos in their current November issue.
A while ago, the magazine asked people to submit photographs for their ‘This is SA’ feature, and I submitted a few for consideration. I was thrilled to be contacted a couple of weeks ago to say that one of my photos would be featured and it was one taken at the spectacular coastal town of Beachport in the south east of the state.
Beachport is a little over 300 kilometres from Adelaide and this shot was taken while we were holidaying there, staying in the lovely Beachport Caravan Park, situated right on the beachfront with views of the long jetty and Rivoli Bay.
The photo was taken when we took the Bowman Scenic Drive, an 8 kilometre coastal road that has one spectacular view after the other. There are a number of beaches to stop at and other scenic spots along the way, including this area, Bartlett’s Rocks.

These rocks also feature blowholes that at the right time, with a high tide and big swell, force water and air up through the rocks, disturbing the seagull population. I was watching the big flock of seagulls resting peacefully on the rocks but noticed big waves breaking off shore, so waited for an incoming wave to crash and cause them to fly off, and with a bit of patience it paid off and I was able to capture this shot.
The SALife November issue which is also the Christmas issue, is out now wherever you buy your magazines and this issue features people, places, homes, gardens, social pages as well as food and fashion tips for the festive season ahead.

This premium lifestyle brand glossy magazine has an audience of around 41,000 readers per month, plus 1 now, with my purchase of this issue!
Enjoy this quality South Australian magazine and the prep for the festive season. It certainly has us excited for the festive season and the summer holidays ahead.
Cheers
Glenys
