Northcote Bars and a Vegan Cafe in Fitzroy

thumbnail_IMG_3967Ask the locals that know Melbourne and they will tell you that Northcote is the hipster patch around 6 kilometres north east of the city centre, and home to cafes, bars and boutiques. Itโ€™s also a part of town weโ€™ve visited often with so many choices of places to go for great food and casual friendly bars for an after dinner drink.

High Street in Northcote is where itโ€™s all happening and on our latest visit to Melbourne we visited a couple of bars including an old favourite and a new cosy spot.

The Very Cool & Tasty Fitzroy

Just 3 kilometres out of Melbourne city is the suburb of Fitzroy. A number of reasons have made this a must see and experience destination when in Melbourne. It has become well known for its little bars, restaurants & cafes, street art and markets. My tip would be to head there on a Saturday morning and spend a few hours discovering markets, enjoying a breakfast or brunch and wandering around looking at the street art and shops. Itโ€™s easily accessible on a tram route or there are a couple of pay car parks in the street.
