Each year I look back on our travels and highlights of the year and it always surprises me how many regions we’ve been able to visit, the great experiences we’ve had along the way and as a result, the stories and photos I’ve had published.
2025 started a little slow for us but we’ve made up for it in the latter half of the year with lots of travels and events attended all over South Australia mainly.
We had caravan trips to York Peninsula, the Riverland and Murraylands regions, the south east of the state, Barossa Valley, Mildura in Victoria and into the Flinders Ranges and outback.

Some of the trips were by ourselves, just enjoying the simple things in life and other times were spent with friends who we look forward to sharing fun times with in the great outdoors.
Achievements this year included having 12 recipes and 5 stories printed in magazines and online, and having a photograph chosen to appear in the Elders Ltd calendar. I was also privileged to have 3 photos chosen to appear on the Karoonda silos for the month of August during SALA Festival.

My writing and photos appeared in a variety of magazines and online publications including CMCA – The Wanderer, Fishing SA, RV Daily, Unsealed 4×4 and soon, some new work and a new collaboration with Caravan and Camping SA.

This year also marked 10 years since I began freelance writing, and I’m pleased to say that the Caravan Correspondent website still rates as one of the Best Australian Caravan Blogs and Websites, according to Feedspot.

On a sad note… this year we lost our much loved and spoilt kelpie, Neo. He was a loveable boy and a brilliant travelling companion, who looked forward to his caravan holidays as much as we do. He was well known to all our friends, and at our regular holiday spots where more people knew his name than ours, mainly due to his distinctive cream colour and wonky legs. His personality certainly outshone his abilities. There’ll never be another like him and we miss him terribly – He’s left a big hole in our hearts.

As we move on though, I’d like to thank everyone who has read along with our travels, (from within Australia and overseas), and supported my writing and photography pursuits. It means the world and I hope to bring more of the same next year.
Stay tuned for more fishing, caravanning, writing and journeys on the road in 2026. Maybe we’ll catch you somewhere on the road in Australia next year. I’ll be the one fawning over all the kelpies we see.

With gratitude,
Glenys x
