The December / January edition of Fishing SA magazine is in stores now, packed with all the tips and advice you can use for successful summer fishing sessions. It has practical stories to give you the best chances whether that be by a river, beach or even reservoir fishing.
Our plan is to hit Yorke Peninsula again for summer fishing, and so far there hasn’t been a sign of problems caused by the algal bloom, which hasn’t reached the area we’re heading to. Thank goodness.
In the latest issue I’ve also contributed a recipe perfect for summer, a Vietnamese style salad with fried squid, and it’s so tasty I think it will be on high rotation when we’re caravanning by the beach.

The salad has all the classic flavours of a Vietnamese salad with finely shredded veggies, chilli and mint, some chopped peanuts for crunch, rice vermicelli noodles and of course, a tangy, sweet and sour fish sauce dressing.
With still warm fried squid added to the salad, this dish is one that will go down well with a nice crisp, dry white wine. I can picture it now.

For the full recipe you can buy the latest edition of Fishing SA magazine at all the usual outlets, subscribe to receive the print or online version of the magazine, and maybe you can find it in your local library too!
Enjoy

Happy summer holidays to you! Since we’re just home from our month in Europe we’re happy to be at home for a while. Update on our caravan – the insurance claim has been lodged and the van is being assessed tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a good outcome.
